Site Changes

On 1 November 2010 the Office of the Privacy Commissioner was integrated into the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). An interim website for the OAIC is available at www.oaic.gov.au. This site (privacy.gov.au), which only contains information related to the OAIC's privacy function, will be maintained until a combined site is established.

Privacy Contact Officers

The information in this section is for Australian and ACT government Privacy Contact Officers (PCOs).

PCOs are the first point of contact for advice on privacy matters related to their agency. The Office strongly encourages each agency to have a PCO.

The Office coordinates a network of PCOs, usually organising network meetingsĀ four times a year to discuss current privacy issues. The Office also maintains a directory of all PCOs. If you are a PCO and would like to join the network or add or update your contact details in the PCO directory, email pco@privacy.gov.au or ring our Privacy Enquiries Line on 1300 363 992. You can also contact us to find out who your agency PCO is, or to find out the PCO of another agency.
