Site Changes
On 1 November 2010 the Office of the Privacy Commissioner was integrated into the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). An interim website for the OAIC is available at www.oaic.gov.au. This site (privacy.gov.au), which only contains information related to the OAIC's privacy function, will be maintained until a combined site is established.
History
Media Release: 2008 WINNERS
The Australian Privacy Awards aim to encourage, recognise and reward businesses, government agencies and not-for-profit organisations that engage in good privacy practices.
The Australian Privacy Medal aims to provide acknowledgement to an individual who has exhibited an outstanding level of achievement in advancing privacy in Australia.
The inaugural Awards and Medal programs form part of the of events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the passage of the first privacy legislation through the Parliament of Australia.
